The Gap is an innovative and dynamic education package for young people in their final year of school. The Gap has become a service provider of alternative curriculum to local schools. Target groups are teenagers disaffected with school or facing exclusion. The Gap provides social skills, employability skills, qualifications and The Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. Since its launch in January 1998 The Gap has served 1,000 young people.
Little Rascals was established in September 1999 and is a community focused pre-school play club for toddlers aged 0-4 and their parents. The friendly, qualified team provide a fun packed afternoon including: stories, craft activities, games and songs. Little Rascals runs every Tuesday in school term-time from 1:00pm - 2:45pm.
A Friday night opportunity for 10-16 year olds to have fun and develop creative skills in drama and performance. The project aims to inspire confidence and the development of self-esteem through the performing arts.
Back of the Net! is an after school football club, which is run in association with Gwyrosydd Junior School. It attracts an average of 20, 9-11 year olds. The project aims to reach children with little experience or opportunity to play football. The course also includes specific sessions on teamwork, communication skills and the development of football skills through the help of the Football Association course.
Soulmates is a schools project dedicated to delivering practical advice to young people on relationship issues. Through interactive lessons Soulmates focuses on sustainable relationships, sex and pregnancy education and developing skills for parenthood.
Gweini is The Council for Christian Community Work in Wales that has been established by the Evangelical Alliance Wales, Care for Wales, Tearfund Wales and Cornerstone Church, Swansea. Gweini represents churches involved in community work to the Welsh Assembly and supports those churches in their community endeavours.
Camera Club provides creative and motivating after school workshops in a range of art and photographic skills working with local school children. It is run as a joint project between Cornerstone and the BPP Trust.
Wales Wide promotes the planting of new churches in Wales and the strengthening of existing ones where appropriate. The Wales Wide team consists of leaders across the denominations working collaboratively to develop strategy and activity for Wales.
